30 May Rising Star Interview Leader: Shamael

I started my journey as a Rising Star in 2016 with the hopes of receiving assistance and guidance to reach my goals, little did I know I’d receive more than just that. Apart from the mentorship program, being part of this organisation contributed hugely to my personal growth, as the platform encouraged indulging in various valuable activities, one of them being helping out in interviewing new cohorts.

I started off in this journey as a secondary interviewer, where I received ample space of understanding the process by simultaneously observing the primary interviewer and participating myself as an interviewer in the sessions. Subsequently, after gaining confidence from previous practices and receiving all the required guidelines from Wedu I decided to take the next step by being an Interview Leader. Although, primarily I applied for this opportunity to gain experience but now I continue to do so because I genuinely enjoy being a part of it.

Interviewing the potential rising stars is not only enriching my skills but is also providing me the esteemed opportunity of listening to numerous inspiring stories from all around, and being able to be a small intermediator between them and their success brings immense joy to me. Currently, I have been designated as the Senior Interview Leader to guide and help the new interview leaders through this path.
