Rising Together: Leadership, Resilience, and Renewal in 2024

At Wedu, our vision remains unwavering: a world where half of all leaders are women. In 2024, this vision guided us through a year marked by transformation, both within Wedu and across the global development landscape. Against this dynamic backdrop, we continued to grow, adapt, and lead with purpose.

In 2024, we welcomed new partners and team mates, celebrated our community’s impact, and deepened our commitment to transformative leadership. From the co-creation of the Reflective Guide on Transformative Mentorship—equipping mentors with the tools and self-awareness to better support the women leaders in our community—to the inaugural Wedu Women’s Leadership Awards that honoured over 70 remarkable nominees, we made space to recognise and elevate courageous leadership in all its forms.

Wedu stories and learnings were shared across global platforms, from international to grassroot forums, amplifying the lived experiences and aspirations of the women leaders in our community. At the same time, our programmes flourished: over 1,700 women leaders completed our Introduction to Leadership course, 1,100 women participated in the Women’s Leadership Academy, and 175 mentorship matches were made, further strengthening our global community of gender equity allies.

In partnership with the US Mission to ASEAN’s YSEALI initiative, we proudly funded 68 women-led projects, while our Education Funding programme—the longest-running women-centered Income Sharing Agreement in Asia—supported 136 women across 15 countries, ensuring both further education and mentorship for women leaders in the region. These are just a few of our achievements from 2024.
