“U.S. – ASEAN Women’s Leadership Academy for YSEALI”
Jakarta, October 17 – In partnership with Wedu, the U.S. Mission to ASEAN is organizing the U.S. – ASEAN Women’s Leadership Academy for Young Southeast Asian Leaders (YSEALI) in Jakarta from October 17 to 21, 2016. The U.S. ASEAN Women’s Leadership Academy for YSEALI is grateful for support by partners AirAsia, GE, IBM, and Visa.
The Academy provides 40 participants from ASEAN member countries, ages 25 to 35, from diverse professional and personal backgrounds the opportunity to reinforce their leadership development and aims to strengthen the ASEAN community.
The Academy includes mentoring sessions as well as small group and networking sessions. “One of my top priorities as U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN is to promote opportunities for women in ASEAN, and this Academy is just one example of our commitment, “said Ambassador Hachigian, the U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN. Ambassador Hachigian will moderate a panel discussion Women Who Lead with four other women leaders from private sector and NGO, to share experiences and best practices for the aspiring young leaders.
Topics covered during the Academy include the power and development of personal branding as well as a professional skills assessment. Regional challenges will be discussed and participants will be equipped with tools to facilitate positive change in their communities. The young leaders will also learn how to use mentorship for their own personal and professional development and start their own mentoring practice.
